AAPN Weekly Roundup 7/13/18

It’s Friday! Another busy week comes to an end, we hope you’ve had a great one.

Here at AAPN, we have been busy making arrangements for two big events on the horizon that we talked about more here this week. On September 12th the AAPN Regional Conferences that have proved to be such a success will be coming full circle and, for the seventh staging, be returning to where it all started, Haggar headquarters in Dallas. We’ve been busy making all the arrangements, especially Sue Strickland, who will be hosting the very first AAPN-W, a forum for AAPN member women-only.

Moving a little further into the year we are also incredibly excited for The Apparel Summit of the Americas. We’ll be staging that in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on November 27-29 and have been busy booking up every hotel room in town so that you all have great places to stay! This promises to be a very special event and we hope to see as many of you as possible.

In member news, we were excited to see that AAPN member Unifi continues to make huge strides in sustainability thanks to a new partnership with Pac-12 Team Green, a unique initiative being launched by the Pac-12 collegiate athletic committee.  We also welcomed a new member to the AAPN family, Inspectorio, an amazing company creating a digital ecosystem that leverages artificial intelligence to improve the quality and sustainability impact of products.

We did manage to find time to keep up with the outside world too, with Mike sharing his thoughts on the benefits of smaller scale networking and taking a look at shirts made from vegetable waste (!) and a very simple way one innovative apparel maker is reconnecting its customers with their clothes.

So, that was a look at our week here at AAPN, how was yours? Join us on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter and let us know. We’d love to hear from you.
