Here’s the latest in our series highlighting the women of AAPN, this week featuring Jennifer K. Jones who is in sales and marketing at Contempora Fabrics.
What project have you worked on that you’re most proud of? Why?
I am super proud of the video we made recently at Contempora Fabrics. Our President, Ron Roach, approached me just a couple months into my time at Contempora to be the point of contact on this project.
The entire project was something so far from anything I had ever done, but I combed the internet for inspiration, met with our “thinktank” on this project, and worked with the script writers on numerous edits to fully convey our vision.
When the videographer arrived on the day of the shoot, we lucked out in a major way! We found out he’s an Emmy winning videographer & has had experience directing. Total win for us! It was such a fun day shooting and when we had the final product in hand, we were blown away! We are all so proud.
What is it about your job that makes you feel it’s the right fit for you?
It’s the perfect mix of my favorite things…. Selling, being creative, and being part of the apparel supply chain. My current role really does blend all of my previous experience and allows me to offer a different perspective to the Contempora team.
What would you say is your career motto?
During my time at Nordstrom, the moto was always “leave it better than you found it.” This is such an important mantra to keep in mind for all aspects of life.
What is one piece of advice you’d offer working moms?
Don’t be so hard on yourself. (So easy to say, so hard to do.)
